Pair up with Nederburg at Maropeng

What happens when you meet an anchorman, a brewmaster, a young airhawk and a beautiful lady at Maropeng?

Well, you have a night to remember, that’s what. Because they are all vividly named wines, part of Nederburg’s Heritage Heroes collection, which will be showcased at this month’s wine-pairing evening at the Maropeng Boutique Hotel on Saturday, 25 April.

Cape Winemaster, Chris De Klerk will be pairing the special blends with a six-course gourmet meal.

Here’s the mouth-watering menu:

First course (paired with The Motorcycle Marvel 2010):
Rosemary-infused spicy chicken drummets, sauteed baby leeks and honey-mustard reduction

Second course (paired with The Anchorman 2012):
Smoked saffron beurre blanc risotto topped with a pan-seared queen prawn, salmon caviar, pea puree and shellfish foam

Lime sorbet

Third course (paired with The Brew Master 2010):
Beef fillet en croute, pomme anna, field mushroom puree, glazed zanahorias vueltas (orange carrots), celeriac horseradish cream with crisp zucchini and sauvignon jus

Fourth course (paired with The Young Airhawk 2012):
Poached pear and gorgonzola cheesecake

Fifth course (paired with The Beautiful Lady 2012):
Exotic fruit macaroons

Sixth course (paired with the Nederburg Noble Late Harvest):
Duo of chocolate and lemon delice with wild berry compote, mint coulis and honeycomb crackling
