The Maropeng Hotel restaurant recently updated its menu and added a range of new, exciting, five-star dishes. From rack of lamb to delicious springbok carpaccio and decadent desserts including homemade tiramisu and fruit salad with cinnamon ice cream, the new menu will surely tantalise your taste buds.

According to Head Chef Peter Langa, the new dishes will draw a wider variety of customers to the Maropeng Hotel: “We are offering an up-market, fine dining experience and our new menu reflects the hotel clientele.”

Many of the new dishes are halaal and there is also a variety of vegetarian dishes for customers to choose from.

Langa is very excited about the new menu and says that it will do great things for Maropeng. “We really want to put the hotel on the map so it can be a top destination in the Cradle of Humankind.”

A highlight is the hot mud chocolate pudding, which Langa says is “especially for the ladies”. Made of dark chocolate and served with a light creamy vanilla custard, this chef is not giving away all the secrets as to what else goes into this heavenly dessert, so make sure that you visit Maropeng this month so you can try it for yourself.
The Market Place and Sterkfontein Caves restaurants also have some new additions to their menus like vegetarian and halaal chicken burgers and special treats like muffins and cakes. Visitors to Maropeng and Sterkfontein can now end off their day exploring the Cradle of Humankind with tea and cake.
