Maropeng, the official Visitor Centre for the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site, invites you to celebrate in African style on September 24, 2008. Maropeng will be hosting an African chocolate brand, Chocolates by Tomes, at the Magaliesburg Classic Country Festival. The country festival will be held in the grounds of Bekker School (off the R563 on the way to Hekpoort).

Chocolates by Tomes, known for their range of hand-crafted truffles and chocolates, are launching their new chocolate range, made entirely of raw materials from the African continent. Chocolatier Richard Tomes felt that as Africa produces up to 80% of the world’s cocoa beans, which are used by the top European chocolate manufacturers, it was time that an African manufacturer produced superb-quality chocolate from the same raw materials as European imports.

Join Maropeng and celebrate Heritage Day as you indulge in Chocolates by Tomes and savour a glass of Krone Rosé Cuvée Brut or Krone Borealis Cuvée Brut, Methode Cap Classique sparkling wine from the House of Krone at Twee Jonge Gezellen Estate, Tulbagh.

Tickets for the festival are available from Computicket and at the gate. The entrance fee for adults is R100 and children under 10 enter for free. Sign up for the Maropeng newsletter on the day to receive your complimentary chocolate and glass of bubbly. Alternatively the chocolates and sparkling wine will be sold by the glass or bottle at a reduced rate.

We look forward to seeing you there!
