Join the Chromatics for jazzy Sunday lunches at the Maropeng Hotel, launching on July 4, 2009.

Established musicians Michael Ramasimont and Bareng Seilane make up this jazz band. Maropeng Marketing Manager Erica Saunders says, “We auditioned a lot of bands, but really liked their sound.”

The Chromatics, influenced by jazz greats Duke Ellington and Sergio Mendes, produce a mixture of old school and modern jazz.

On hearing about the auditions, Bareng, who once worked at Maropeng as a waiter, saw the opportunity to showcase his musical ability. “I was doing something they were interested in,” he says.

The band has been playing together for three years – Michael on piano and Bareng on the bass guitar . Both are accomplished in all music styles, but jazz is their love.

Michael enjoys playing for a live audience and says, “I love the response you get from people.”

The Maropeng Hotel, with breathtaking views of the Witwatersberg and Magaliesberg ranges, is the perfect place to refresh your soul, while taking in the melodies provided by the Chromatics.

The lunches will be available every Sunday from 12h00 to 15h00 at a cost of R210 per adult. To book online for this event please click here
