TripAdvisor travellers have once again rated the Sterkfontein Caves as a must-see destination when in South Africa, resulting in the attraction receiving a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

The Certificate of Excellence is awarded in recognition of the positive feedback received from visitors posting reviews on the site.

“The Sterkfontein Caves offer visitors a glimpse into the exciting and colourful history of the area and should definitely be on the itinerary for any travellers heading to South Africa. We are proud that the Caves have been recognised as worthy of the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and believe this award will bring more feet into the Caves exposing, more people to the wonder that they are,” says Lindsay Marshall, communications and marketing manager at Maropeng.

Owned by the University of the Witwatersrand, the Sterkfontein Caves are world famous for fossil finds and discoveries, including Mrs Ples and Little Foot.

The tours at the Sterkfontein Caves, which start above ground and then take visitors deep into the caves, run every half hour, seven days a week.
