MAROPENG STRENGTHENS MARKETING MUSCLE

Maropeng, the official visitor’s centre for the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site, has recently restructured its marketing department and appointed Lindsay Marshall, as Marketing and Communications Manager.

No stranger to Maropeng, she shares an intimate knowledge of the venue.

Marshall first joined Maropeng in 2007 as exhibition curator and human resources manager, a post she held until recently.  As a Bachelor of Arts graduate from Wits University, with a degree in archaeology and social anthropology, an honours degree in archaeology, and a post-graduate diploma in heritage studies, Marshall has played an invaluable role in her curatorship role.

According to Tony Rubin managing director of Maropeng, “When we were looking for a marketing candidate, we couldn’t find anyone better than Lindsay. She has always played a dual role, looking after both the fossils and the people at Maropeng, and over the years also contributed to our marketing team. We felt it was high time we formalised her role and  believed with her unique understanding of Maropeng, we had an exciting opportunity to take the marketing to a next level.”

Marshall is a strong team players and shares a common vision to see Maropeng thriving and becoming the preferred visitors’ destination for South Africans and people abroad.
