MAROPENG CHEF AND TOP WINE CONNOISSEUR CREATE A SIX-COURSE LUNCH WITH WINE PAIRING
Hosted at the Maropeng Hotel on 8 March 2014, the event comprises a six-course lunch that kicks off at midday, with a specially crafted menu by Maropeng head chef Peter Langa to complement the carefully selected wines.
Craye has been on numerous explorations to find the unknown gems of the Stellenbosch winelands. He brings a passion and enthusiasm for wine that will leave you enthralled and feeling like a wine connoisseur yourself.
The price of R400 per person includes the lunch and wine tasting. Any other drinks will be for your own account.
The menu is detailed below, but the wines accompanying each course will only be revealed on the day.
Seared tuna served with a parsnip puree and presented with tomato jelly, pickled quail eggs and pea tendrils
Poached chicken roulade served on a red pimento base with a smoky paprika sauce
Slow-roasted rack of lamb and rosemary jus served with creamy polenta and a pea puree
Raspberry panna cotta served with a French tuile
