What better way to enjoy Christmas Day than surrounded by family and friends at a table brimming with delectable eats and drinks?

Join us for Christmas Day celebrations at Maropeng, where we’ve got two lunch options available – a family-style buffet lunch and carvery at the Tumulus Restaurant, or a three-course plated meal with dessert buffet at the boutique Maropeng Hotel.

Christmas Day lunch menu: Tumulus Restaurant

Enjoy a Christmas Day lunch buffet at Maropeng’s Tumulus Restaurant for just R300 per person, or R175 for children aged five to 14.

Starters
Chilled beetroot soup, cold meat platter with assorted pickles, vegetable spring rolls with plum sauce

Salads
Green bean chakalaka salad, glazed beetroot and orange salad, country herb salad, mozzarella pasta salad

From the carvery
Roasted beef topside with brown onion sauce, roasted turkey breast with plum sauce, festive roast chicken, tempura hake fillets, Mediterranean lamb curry with sundried fruits, ricotta dumpling with mushroom sauce

Mrs Ples savoury rice, rosemary roasted potatoes, traditional samp and red kidney beans, Dutch spinach with garlic seasoning, mixed vegetables, butternut pie

Desserts
Dark malva pudding with fresh cream custard, homemade chocolate eclairs, peppermint tart, Maropeng mince pies, wild mousse trio, festive fruit slices served with vanilla ice cream.

After lunch enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee and a selection of handmade truffles.

Enjoy Christmas Day lunch at the Maropeng Hotel for just R350 per person, or R250 for children aged five to 14.

Salmon terrine, butterflied medium prawns, hummus and assorted breads, garlic mussels, Asian greens with assorted salad condiments

Main meal options
Beef fillet with a mignon sauce topped with spicy pepperdews, served with oregano potato rosti and julienne vegetables

or

Beet-cured salmon in a creamy garlic sauce, served with julienne vegetables, red sorrel greens and crumbed polenta cakes

or

Slices of roasted turkey roll drizzled with plum sauce on a bed of couscous and julienne vegetables

or

Ricotta and herb dumpling served with a porcini and vodka sauce

Dessert buffet
Austrian chocolate mousse, Maropeng mince pies, malva pudding with fresh cream custard infused with Frangelico, individual Black Forest gateau cake, Christmas pudding with plum sauce, fruit salad with granadilla coulis
