The Maropeng Visitor Centre recently hosted a number of children from the charity Children of Fire.

The organisation assists young survivors of burn injuries and educates the communities in which they live, aiming to provide both prevention and cure.

Many of these children are partially sighted as a result of their injuries, and attend Johannesburg School for the Blind when they are in Johannesburg awaiting surgery or recovering from surgery.

The children and their carers explored the Centre, enjoying the underground boat ride through time and the exhibitions.

Maropeng was identified as an excellent attraction for these children because it offers interactive, audio and tactile exhibitions that can be enjoyed by both sighted and sight-impaired individuals.
