Maropeng celebrated Heritage Day in style this year, setting up a stand at the Great Escape Magaliesburg Country Classic Festival.

The annual festival, a celebration of country living, highlights the various attractions and hospitality venues in the Magalies Meander.

The Maropeng stand, which aimed to educate the community about Maropeng and the Cradle of Humankind, was met with enthusiasm. The stand drew a number of visitors who were eager to learn about their heritage while relaxing with a glass of champagne, courtesy of Distel, and some mouth-watering chocolate from The Chocolate Tier, who joined the Maropeng stand again this year.

“It was great to be outdoors on such a wonderful day, encouraging people to find out more about their heritage and visit Maropeng and Sterkfontein Caves,” says Erica Saunders, marketing manager of Maropeng. “We, as the Maropeng team, had a ball meeting so many people who had been to Maropeng and who were eager to come again. We look forward to meeting everyone again next year.”
