Visit Maropeng, and bring a date!
We all know that the activities and exhibitions at Maropeng and the Sterkfontein Caves are enjoyed by schools, families and tourists. But the Cradle of Humankind is also a fun and original place for couples to enjoy together.
After the world-class exhibition, take in the superb views on a walk or over lunch at the hotel or Tumulus Restaurant, The natural beauty of the Sterkfontein Caves creates a romantic atmosphere, and souvenirs to remember your time at this World Heritage Site are available at the market.
Recently Chris Stalker and his girlfriend Tamaryn Le Roux visited Maropeng for the first time. Chris praises the museum, saying, “My first impression of Maropeng was that it was a very interesting museum.”
Chris said it was difficult for him to pick his favourite part of the tour, because there were so many highlights. He enjoyed the boat ride, and complimented the displays at the museum, saying they had “a lot of things to interact with.”
For future visitors Chris says that, when you visit Maropeng, it is “well worth buying the bundle deal so that you can head off to the caves after you are done at the museum.”
