The Mugg & Bean 24 Hr featuring the EA Rock Feast

The Mugg & Bean 24 Hr is taking place this year on Saturday and Sunday, 30th and 31st August. The race was extremely popular last year and won ‘Best One Day Race 2007’ in Bicycling Magazine’s Rate Your Race awards.

The main race will be starting on Saturday, 30th August at 12 pm and will continue until 12 pm on Sunday, 31st August 2008.

This year the event will be bigger and better than ever and will be taking place at Maropeng in the Cradle of Humankind. Maropeng was the winner in the 2008 ‘Tourist Attraction’ category in The South African Tourism Welcome Awards.

There will also be a fantastic kiddies race for kids aged 4 – 10.  This will be a fun; adventure quest with mental challenges as well as physical and interactive challenges.  The kids will be able to do laps around a specially designed kiddies’ track (the kids event will take place on Sunday the 31st at 9am).

The EA Rock Feast Concert will be taking place on the Saturday (gates open at 11am) in the amphitheatre, which can accommodate up to 12,000 people.  There is a fabulous line-up with some of South Africa’s top bands playing such as the Prime Circle, Evolver; Lonehill Estate, Stealing Love Jones, New Academics, Knaive, the talented Lady Lea and more.
Tickets cost R150 – R250 and include a free Fox t-shirt worth R175 for the first 1 000 entrants, tickets are available at Computicket.

Nissan as vehicle sponsor for the event, will be hosting a 4x4 track and the Fox MX stunt riders will be doing different freestyle motocross displays over the weekend.

Refreshments will be on sale at the Mugg & Bean tent, there will also be a beer tent, Quickets braai area, EA Games gaming marquee and the Knog VIP tent at the venue.
