The inaugural Cradle Festival, hosted by Maropeng, is set to take place between May 6 and May 15, and promises a full line-up of exciting activities and events to ensure there is something for the whole family to enjoy.
If you’ve had your fill of the exciting sporting events and you’re in the mood to sit back and relax, there will be lots of live entertainment on offer, including the Miss Cradle beauty pageant and a variety of local music acts. Zak van Niekerk and Dozi will be performing on Saturday, May 7, while Diederik, Amor Vittone, ADAM, and the Musikale Mani Dancers will take to the stage on Sunday, May 8. A selection of DJs will be in attendance on Saturday, May 14, to keep the festival atmosphere upbeat, and on Sunday, May 15, Idols stars Jamie-Lee Sexton and Bianca le Grange will be performing.
If you’re looking to take in some fresh air and enjoy the beautiful scenery, why not take part in a series of fun outdoor activities, including fly fishing competitions and potjie cook-offs? If you’re in a shopping mood, you can explore the market.
A beer tent, plus a number of food stalls, will be set up for your refreshment. For parents needing some time to unwind, there will be a variety of children-friendly facilities and activities on offer, including a Clamber Club obstacle course.
Tickets cost R50 per adult and R25 per child. Festival goers will also be entitled to a discounted rate of R92 per adult and R52 per child for entry to the Maropeng Visitor Centre.
