Maropeng to exhibit at top education expos in July
Maropeng Education Marketing Executive will be attending African Education Week and Future Ed in July
African Education week from July 2 to 4 at the Sandton Convention Centre is an exhibition that strives to bring together specialists in the field of education to network and attend keynote sessions with influential people.
Maropeng Education Marketing Executive Magel van de Venter says the link between the national curriculum and Maropeng’s educational resource pack is a major motivation for Maropeng to attend the show. She said, “We want to inspire delegates to visit Maropeng and Sterkfontein so that we can make this a destination of choice when they plan their educational trips.”
Future Ed at the Coca-Cola Dome from 19 to 21 July is an exhibition that brings together exhibitors who bring support to educators with new interventions, technology and toys that can be used in the classroom. This is a high profile show with decision-makers in the field of education, who present case studies on crucial educational topics and ways to deal with them. Educators visit this show to stay up to date with trends in the education sector.
Van de Venter says Future Ed gives Maropeng an opportunity to engage directly with educators who want to visit Maropeng and Sterkfontein Caves, and answer any questions. “We offer educators the opportunity to book their excursions at Maropeng where they can bring the theoretical work covered in class to life.”
She further adds that a visit to Maropeng will give learners the experience of learning while having fun, “We are the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in South Africa that offers a resource pack and works out lesson plans with assessment rubrics to support the educators.”
Visitors are welcome to visit the Maropeng stands where they can meet with the Maropeng marketing team. They will also receive a free educational disk packed with resources.
Maropeng is also offering visitors a voucher that will entitle their school to book and pay for an excursion from January to February 2013 at 2012 rates.
