Maropeng’s conference centres can be set up to suit your conference needs
Maropeng’s corporate tourism profile is set to rise at the end of February when the company takes its place at the forthcoming business tourism exhibition under the auspices of Meetings Africa.
The exhibition, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg from February 24 to 26, targets the business tourism industry. It will be attended by conference organisers, meeting planners, corporate travel agents, destination management companies and other industry experts.
As an award-winning tourism destination and one of southern Africa’s most compelling destinations, Maropeng will have the opportunity to showcase its facilities as an outstanding venue for corporate entertainment, team building, business meetings and corporate getaways.
The fully-equipped Maropeng conference centre is situated in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site, an easy hour’s drive from Pretoria or Johannesburg. Its creative, dedicated events team is skilled at making conferences memorable experiences.
Maropeng has a wireless internet facility that is available to all patrons at the visitor centre. Access is available in the hotel (free for residents), the conference rooms and the market place. Day visitors can pay for internet access using their credit cards.
After meetings and during breakaways, delegates and visitors can relax in the nearby four-star Maropeng Hotel or enjoy meals at the Tumulus Restaurant, with its unbeatable views of the Magaliesberg mountains.
They will have access to a number of activities, from a fascinating tour of the Maropeng Visitor Centre, to learn about the dramatic palaeontological discoveries that improved our understanding of human development; to the wonders of the prehistoric Sterkfontein Caves. Other adventurous outings include an underground boat trip and hot-air ballooning, game viewing in nearby reserves.
Maropeng is running a special for all Meetings Africa delegates. Bookings received from the Meetings Africa delegates, for any Maropeng offering, by the end of March 2010, will be charged at the 2009 rates.
The Meetings Africa exhibition is supported by key partners, including the Gauteng Tourism Authority, the Johannesburg Tourism Company, the Sandton Convention Centre and the Department of Trade and Industry.
