Father’s Day is celebrated in most western countries throughout the world in June, in commemoration of a special father who raised six children on his own. His daughter wanted to honour her father and the first Father’s Day was celebrated on 19 June 1910 in Washington.

The cost for overnight accommodation at the 4-star Maropeng Hotel is R620 per person sharing per night (R400 single supplement) including a full English breakfast, and R195 per person for the spit braai. The hotel will also be serving a set menu lunch for R210 per person, and a buffet lunch will be on offer at Sterkfontein for R125 per person.
Maropeng is only 45 minutes from Jo’burg and Pretoria, yet its peaceful setting amid the Magaliesberg and Witwatersberg mountain ranges will unwind the most stressed of Dads. Maropeng will also have an exciting line-up of activities for the kids.
