Family fun at Maropeng this Easter

April, the month of public holidays and long weekends, is upon us. If you’re going to be in Gauteng this month, rest assured that there will be loads to do in the Cradle of Humankind.

Maropeng has many exciting events planned this Easter for the whole family to enjoy, from accommodation specials and riveting tours to fun, Easter-themed activities and competitions.

Easter accommodation special

Why not make your visit to Maropeng and the Sterkfontein Caves this Easter a family getaway? The Maropeng Hotel is offering a fantastic accommodation special from Friday, April 22 until Wednesday, April 27.

For R1 000 per person sharing, enjoy a delicious three-course dinner, bed and breakfast on the terrace where you can soak up some of the best views in Gauteng.

Children 4 to 12 years old qualify for the special child rate of R880 per room, which entitles them to their own room with inter-leading doors (subject to availability).

Breakfast for children will be charged at R7.50 per year of age from 4 to 12 years old. Dinner will be charged at R11 per year of age from 4 to 12 years old. Children under the age of four stay free and share with their parents.

Easter carvery lunch

Take a break between viewing the Maropeng exhibition and visiting the caves with a superb Easter carvery lunch at the Tumulus Restaurant, reasonably priced at only R135 per adult and R75 per child, as well as a kiddies’ menu option for only R50 – sure to hit the spot after all that Easter chocolate!
