Stargazing

Maropeng will be hosting a stargazing evening with its resident astronomer, Vincent Nettmann.

Join Vincent as he takes us through our solar system.

This event will be hosted by the Tumulus Restaurant, at a cost of R195 for adults and R90 for children.

The star-viewing evenings are weather dependent. Please bring your own binoculars.

Stargazers will be pleased to know that Maropeng is offering an accommodation special for the Friday and Saturday of each stargazing weekend. Prices are R770 per person sharing per night, or R1170 if you are spending the night on your own.

Pink number - salmon carpaccio drizzled with whole grain mustard and dill cream finished with lemon and capers marmalade

Dukkah - biltong mousse served with melba toast drizzled with reduction of balsamic vinegar & basil pesto
Main:

Peppered beef fillet - pan fried pepper crusted beef fillet flamed with brandy served with a creamy brandy sauce

Moja chicken breast - chicken marinated with cloves and allspice with avocado and sesame, yoghurt sauce on a bed of rice and greens

Tagliatelli - spinach tagliatelli Indulge with blue rock cheese & topped with onion sprouts

Desserts:

Nutty nice crème brûlée - almond crème crème brûlée served with berry compote

Frozen nougat terrine - served with black cherries
