August 7 - Stargazing evening: you are here

Explore your place in the Universe through the night sky, and thereby engage in a personal sense of wonder and discovery.

The very scale of the Universe is mind-boggling: Innumerable galaxies, each consisting of billions of stars. Planet Earth appears as a mere speck of dust orbiting a tiny yellow dwarf star in the grand scale of things

Maropeng’s resident astronomer, Vincent Nettmann, invites you to join him on a 15 billion light year journey from Earth to the extreme edge of the known Universe.

After dinner, you are invited to participate on a laser guided binocular tour while stargazing through our large aperture telescopes. (Weather conditions permitting.)

The event will be held at the Tumulus Restaurant. It is R190 for adults and R90 for children (4 -12 years).

Please note: bookings are confirmed once paid for in full and are not refundable within 72hrs of arrival.
